Inukامی هیولاهای مهربان و شبیه به سگ با قدرتهای معنوی بزرگ هستند که میتوانند به شکل انسان نیز درآیند. با گروهی از «کاربران اینوکامی» با هم برای ریشهکن کردن شر مبارزه میکنند. یکی از اعضای این گروه، کیتا کاواهیرا، به نظر شکستخورده است؛ او شغلش را جدی نمیگیرد، با هر زنی که میبیند گُز میگزد و حاضر نیست هیچ اینوکامی حاضر به امضای قرارداد با او شود. روزی با اینوکامی به نام «یوکو» روبهرو میشود؛ او زیبا، بیباک و قدرتمند اما خودمحور و غیرقابلکنترل است.
